Ireland (Days 3-5)
I am sitting on my bed, which feels like a fort, in Killarney (Kerry County). My vacation is almost over and I am dreading the idea of returning to the hot hot heat and humidity of home in America. It gets hot here, and from what I understand it's hotter than usual right now, but it's been downright pleasant during my time (which I am very thankful for). My hotel was constructed inside a Victorian home which is why I think my bedroom is shaped the way it is. They put the double bed in a nook next to a window so if someone entered the room, they'd only see my feet. I like it.
In my last post I was in Kilkenny falling in love with the streets. I am still in love with Kilkenny. I spent a magical birthday walking around and enjoying the atmosphere of town.

I wandered around Kilkenny Castle grounds and, yes, took a photo of the sky.

Tried to find a good sunset spot but ended up taking a sunset walk.

Then I was on two buses for an all-day trip to Kilarney. The transportation was part of my trip. I wanted to sit back and enjoy while I watched Ireland pass by. I knew it'd be grand but I didn't expect it to be so beautiful everywhere. A drive the same distance on a highway in East Coast America would look nothing like this.

Killarney is different, but no less lovely. The town sits in view of Killarney National Park with mountains at close distance and water around them. I visited Ross Castle and then wandered on the paths until my feet hurt and I started getting hungry.

The town of Killarney helped me wrap up souvenir shopping, and I found a nice spot to get a gluten free sandwich with potato chips.

Tomorrow I will get breakfast in town and wander about for around an hour before getting on a train back to Dublin. It'll be another day of travel and I'm looking forward to seeing if the rest of Ireland differs from the path I took here (through Waterford and Cork). My trip back to the other side of Ireland will bring me through Limerick and Portlaoise.
If you follow on a map, you'll see this makes an eye-like shape, so I am covering new territory and getting a good view of the land overall. This was intentional in my planning. I only wish I had a few more days and another 2 towns to visit. Oh well, perhaps next time, because I think I will definitely come back again to see more.
